An Interest In Photography
I became interested in photography when I signed up for a photography course in high school. I think seeing my dad taking pictures of the family gave me the bug. I bought my dad's Minolta XG9 35mm film camera from him and used it to capture the images I thought would make nice photographs. One of the "assignments" in our photography class was called, "around the house". I shot a close up of some tomato plants my mother had growing in our backyard and decided to enter it in a local photo contest. I received an honorable mention but the best reward I received was when my teacher said,"that belongs in a food magazine". I went on to use the Minolta on vacations and special occasions. Three years ago my wife and I bought a computer and after awhile I decided to purchase my first digital camera, a FujiFilm S5000. I was a little intimidated at first, but after getting used to using it, it was a breeze.
During the last two years my"hobby" started to become a "serious hobby". I de cided to purchase a more up scale digital camera and bought a Nikon D70S with the money I earned from selling some of my prints at craft shows and by word of mouth. I have done a couple of portraits for friends and some more weddings are in the works in the near future. Even though I probably won't be able to make a living in photography, at least I can do it as a hobby and hopefully put some smiles on some faces. I'm very fortunate to have a very close family and very supportive wife because that makes it so much easier. I'd like to thank my wife for giving me the chance to have this web site. I would also like to dedicate this site in the memory of my mother, Cathy Wolfe.
Hope you enjoy the photographs.
